Recently I have started to hear a very low humming noise, but only at night. In the morning I felt s little unsteady on my feet but I put it down to having a good night and a couple too many drinks, however over the course of the day my ear became sore and hearing in left ear was muffled. Hi I’m a young mum living in Derby suffering from tinnitus had it about 2 year now, still struggling with it daily. I’ve had noises in my right ear for years – high pitched sound. Thank god i’m not the only one, and that it’s not just in my head!! i also experience a low pitch sound which is like a heavy lorry approaching from a distance. To answer Kimme’s question,I have suffered with tinnitus for over 2 years now in both ears following a car accident,I recently flew to New york and back (3/3/06) and it did not affect the tinnitus one way or another. Hi im 44 years old female, and have had crackling noises in myears ever since the age 12, i did visit a doctor, but he couldnt pinpoint what was wrong, i even remember asking my class mates if they could hear it, until i realised it was in my hearing. But, I’m sure whether to take the prescribed Tinnitus, ear medicine or not. And I don’t think the pills will affect your ears its just a pill that might work I have tinnitus as well I’ve never taken a pill for it but I have tried a hearing aid on once in my right ear I think hearing aids might be better for you.

I have profound deafness and I’ve had tinnitus since I was 17, I just woke up one day and there it was & it’s never, ever gone away not even for a second just 24/7 nonstop and I hate it!!! I’m 52 now so I’ve gotten used to it, I also get where songs repeat over and over in my head, it can drive you crazy. I have dealt with Tinnitus for 17 years, I’m only 20, since I hit my late teens it started getting worse, I can’t always hear people and I have to ask them to repeat. My tinnitus is always worse when I’m trying to get to sleep and that’s when I get anxious. I just can’t handle fireworks or loud noises. If you are a high-strung, anxious type of person, often you will find that not only do you hear tinnitus, but you also You still hear the noise, but only notice it sometimes and it no longer drives you mad.
