So i went to a shooting range yesterday, and stupidly didnt wear hearing protection. like i can hear things, even quiet things pretty well, it just seem like the pitch is off slightly on some noises. that and i have a ringing noise in my right ear. My ear does seem a tad more sensitive than normal though. All I want to know is about how long did the muffled stuffy ear part last, since that bothers me the most that only one ear is fine and the other is plugged up (the feeling and sound, I mean). I know I probably did some type of permanent, but hopefully mediocre damage to my ears. This was at about 6pm last night and my ears are still ringing. If this has happened to anyone else how long untill the ringing subsides and stops driving me crazy? I know all about tinnitus already, my whole life I have not been able to sleep at night without a fan on because I hear a ringing, but the ringing I have now from the gunshot is much more intense so like I said before does anyone know how long untill it subsides. My ears always quit ringing after a few hours. He did not warn me that they made the line hot again, so someone could get a zero with their 308. They don’t work the best when shooting rifle though.

Now, my right ear has been ringing since we finished at 3 p.m. My hearing is much better than it was last weekend, but this sure is a pain. Don’t worry. After enough shooting you won’t even notice it anymore. Did that to myself last year been to all the doctors & used all the witches brews. Sometimes I’d get ringing in my ears but it never lasted long – gone the next day or sooner. If you ever go shooting guns always wear ear protection, one shot will make your ears ring. Only an idiot would go to a concert without ear plugs. the ringing in your ears is actually hearing damage. it does go away but you lost some hearing. I bought my first paid of ear plugs after using napkins to plug my ears at a crazy loud concert, I think it was the Balck and Blue tour (Black Sabbth with Blue Oyster Cult opening, and it was stupid loud. I have had ringing in my ears, tinnitus for about a month now and nothing worked for me until now. I did the technique shown on this website and the ringing stop instantly. There are apparently many caused of tinnitus, some involving nerves and some involving physical damage to the ears, usually from high noise exposure (mine I know is related to firing guns without earplugs, working around hot rods with open headers without earplugs, and working around both recip and jet engines without earplugs – all in my stupid youth). Forwarded this info to my friend who suffers from this after being on a very long antibiotic treatment for Lymes.

How long did it last? Anyone ever have ringing in their ears after shooting a gun(s)? I damaged my in my youth from running heavy equipement on dynos in our shop, and other activites without hearing protection. I normally do, just the hunt got the better of me.
